Local campaigner and Moston resident Tim Hartley has been chosen as the Liberal Democrat candidate to fight the Moston By-election following the recent sad death of Labour Cllr Bill Risby.

On the door step in Moston, which forms part of the new Manchester Central constituency, residents are saying how they want a local councillor who cares about the area - and won't disappear after the election is over.

Only the Liberal Democrats can beat Labour in Manchester. The Tories have not won a council seat in Manchester since 1992!. Many resident say they feel let down by Labour.

Tim said," Living locally I know the issues that local people face. Labour has taken the area for granted for too long, and we need change".

On a recent visit to Manchester, Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg gave strong backing to Tim Hartley in the Moston by-election which is to be held on the 9th April.
